Spindisc

From a Swedish store to a Nordic market structure.

Spindisc is an established Swedish disc golf business. Its offer now reaches Nordic customers through one commerce foundation and market sites written for each country.

Nordleid set the product direction, led the move to Shopify and developed the commerce functionality and market sites that put it into practice.

Product and platform decisions, made together.

Spindisc already had a working business and an established store. The question was which products should carry the offer, and how the business should meet customers outside Sweden.

Answering it meant changing more than the website. The commerce environment, the product hierarchy and the way each market is presented all had to serve the same direction.

Nordleid led the decision to move Spindisc’s commerce from WooCommerce to Shopify, and developed the functionality the business needed there, including multiple languages and currencies.

Spindisc kept ownership of its store and its daily trade. Nordleid built on what already worked.

Three markets, each met on its own terms.

Each market has its own site, written for that market rather than translated from another.

  1. Norway

A Norwegian site connected to the store’s own Norwegian market.

  2. Denmark

A Danish site that states clearly where purchases are completed and which terms apply.

  3. Finland

A Finnish site with content and a training concept of its own.

Where a market had no store of its own yet, its site said so, and sent customers to the right place to buy.

Nordleid matched each market’s digital presence to how far that market had actually come.

Nordleid identified TechDisc as a strategically important product for Spindisc and positioned it as part of Spindisc’s own selection.

Product direction decided which products carry the offer. The market sites were built around that decision.

From market site to purchase.

Every market site leads to the same store, so customers move from local content to a single place to buy.

  1. The market site
  2. The product
  3. The store

Customers meet Spindisc in their own language and complete their purchase in one store, with prices and terms shown at checkout.

For Spindisc, this brings the offer to new markets without running a separate store for each. For Nordleid, it demonstrates the ability to build around a commerce operation, not only a set of pages.

Market adaptation, not translation.

Language was part of how each market was met. It was not the whole of it.

Product presentation, customer information and the path to purchase were adapted market by market.

Clear information for buying across borders.

Customers buying from another country need to know where they buy and what applies.

Each market site states where purchases are completed, and that final prices, shipping and terms are shown at checkout.

Visitors are told when orders ship from Sweden, and that import charges may apply where the checkout does not include them.

Terms, shipping, returns, privacy and cookie information were written for each market, in its own language.

Built beside a running business.

Nordleid’s work was developed beside a store that kept trading.

Every call to action on the market sites points at a confirmed store page, so no visitor is sent to a page that does not exist.

The work came together in three parts:

  1. Set the product direction

TechDisc identified and positioned within Spindisc’s offer.

  2. Establish the commerce foundation

The move to Shopify and custom commerce functionality, including multiple languages and currencies.

  3. Meet each market

Market sites for Norway, Denmark and Finland, each matched to that market’s stage.

What Nordleid delivered

A Nordic commerce structure, built on what already worked.

Nordleid connected product direction, commerce development and market engineering in one engagement, from deciding which products carry the offer to building the store functionality and market sites behind it.

The work extended an established business towards new markets without replacing what already worked, and without treating every market as the same.

That is the significance of the assignment: Nordleid could make the product and platform decisions and carry them through to working commerce and market sites, while Spindisc kept ownership of its store.
